50 Years of Sail Training on Merseyside
26-27th November 2016
4th Floor – Merseyside Maritime Museum
MAST will hold a 2 day event recognising how Sail Training has helped people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to develop the life skills through the unique experience of crewing tall ships.
The event will be opened by Sir Michael Bibby, Group Managing Director, Bibby Line Group Limited at 10am on Saturday 26th November, 4th Floor, Merseyside Maritime Museum.
On behalf of the Trustees and Volunteers of MAST and in recognition of your Organisations’ previous support, I would like to invite you personally and your guests to attend our celebration on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th November.
Over the past 50 years more than 10,000 people, young and old, including many disabled and disadvantaged, have had the opportunity to sail in and out of the River Mersey on a Tall Ship.
There will be opportunities to promote your Organisation and show how it has benefited from giving your young people such a life changing experience.
The Ground Floor of the Maritime Museum will host a Memories and Memorabilia exhibition which will detail how Sail Training in the UK started, its subsequent development, the various bodies that constitute the UK Sail Training Community, and those who have supported the vision of delivering opportunities to sail on a Tall Ship.
The Class A Tall Ship “Stavros S Niarchos” will be in Canning Half Tide Dock for the weekend and will be open for ship tours and briefings on Sail Training topics.
On the evening of Saturday 26th November, there will be a Buffet Supper with a keynote speaker on the Steam Tug “Daniel Adamson”
Public, Private and Charitable Organisations from throughout the North West will be attending.
I would be delighted if you could attend all or part of the event which is free for everyone. Please let me know if you can make it by email, text or phone at email@example.com or 07801 680514
