Taking place over 3 voyage legs, The Apprentice Ship Cup 2017 follows the success of previous years with over 100 young people due to take part. Among the many companies and institutions sending their young apprentices, students and employees in 2017 are Sellafield Ltd, Evolve, Regenda Group, Nuvia, Bolton at Home, New Charter Group, Peel Ports, Liverpool City Council, Bibby Line Group, Mersey Fire & Marine, Broadgreen International School and St John Bosco.

Whilst at sea, crews will experience what is known as Sail Training, an experiential course in personal and professional development championed by youth organisations, multi-national corporations and even navies across the world. They’ll do this aboard one of the four magnificent tall ships taking part – Bessie Ellen, Johanna Lucretia, Maybe and Pelican of London.

Organised by Merseyside Adventure Sailing Trust, this 2017 edition of The Apprentice Ship Cup is sponsored by Liverpool City Council, Bibby Line Group, Sellafield Ltd and Nuvia.

Following the event will be an Awards Dinner, the culmination of this life-changing challenge, hosted to celebrate the achievement of all those who took part.
